Creating a
Hemisphere of Opportunity for All is
more than a saying for PADF and its supporters.
It is a reality that drives everyone to work
together to benefit our most disadvantaged
neighbors.
One of PADF’s strengths is
that it engages all stakeholders – community
organizations, the private sector, government
offices and individuals – to create and
implement sustainable economic programs. These
initiatives have transformed neighborhoods,
brought stability to conflict-ridden areas and
improved the future for tens of thousands of
families.
In Haiti, which was devastated
by a 7.0 earthquake on January 12, PADF
leveraged its large network of community-based
organizations to rebuild entire neighborhoods.
It channels resources from donors into projects
that will put the rubble and despair in the
past.
In Colombia, PADF’s team
implements integrated programs that generate
jobs, develop and market new products,
reinforce local cultures and expand economic
opportunities. Its portfolio of all programs
reached more than 170 municipalities in 20
provinces throughout the country in
2009.
PADF, a non-profit and
non-governmental organization, was founded
nearly 50 years ago to unite private and public
funds to benefit the most disadvantage people.
Today, it counts on resources that include
corporations, individual, governments and
multilateral institutions. Together, we are
Creating a
Hemisphere of Opportunity for
All.
