Kristan Beck

Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Beck is responsible for providing senior-level leadership and oversight to the Foundation’s financial management, accounting, grants and contracts administration, human resources, information technology and other administrative functions.

With 28 years of experience in international non-profit management, Ms. Beck brings a proven track record in organizational development, program management, strategic planning, human resources, information technology, financial management, compliance and other aspects of organizational operations. Over her career she has managed funds from a wide range of public and private donor institutions. Before joining PADF, Ms. Beck served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the Centre for Development and Population Activities where she strengthened the profile of the financial management function by increasing both board and staff understanding of the complex financial challenges facing the organization.

Prior to that, as Chief Operating Officer of Survivor Corps, an organization supporting resilience and recovery of war and conflict survivors around the world, Ms. Beck was responsible for the oversight, growth and alignment of all major operating units, including global programs, development, communications, human resources and financial management. She joined Survivor Corps when it was Landmine Survivors Network and managed the organizational transformation, including the creation of a new mission statement, the strategic program design, website development, and new communications and branding. During Ms. Beck’s tenure as COO she oversaw organizational expansion from six to twelve country programs and transformed overseas field offices into autonomous non-governmental organizations.

Through her work with the George Washington University Center for Global Health andinternational NGOs such as Save the Children, International Planned Parenthood Federation and The Nature Conservancy, Ms. Beck has traveled throughout the world providing training and technical assistance in financial management, grants and contracts administration, governance and strategic planning to overseas field offices and local non-governmental organizations. Fluent in Spanish, she has extensive experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. Ms. Beck holds a Master in Business Administration from The University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Michigan State University.
