PADF Welcomes Four New Members to Board of Trustees

Washington, D.C (June 19, 2015) – The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) announces the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees. Members were elected at the mid-year meeting for their personal commitment to PADF’s mission of assisting disadvantaged people in Latin America and the Caribbean and a willingness to actively participate in Foundation activities and governance. New trustees include:

The new trustees will join the 17-member board, effective immediately. The trustees and their companies will assist PADF in the development of public-private partnerships and social investing, advancing the principles on which the Foundation was founded in 1962.

“PADF relies on the efforts of our board members to further our goal of providing a hemisphere of opportunity for all,” said PADF Executive Director John Sanbrailo. “We welcome these distinguished leaders for the unique skills, expertise and the dedication they bring.” 

Alexandra Aguirre focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and debt and equity private placements throughout Latin America, with an emphasis on Mexico and Central America. She is a member of the America and International bar Associations and holds an advanced certificate in Family Business Advising.

Ángela Franco’s leadership has helped the establishment and growth of hundreds of area small and medium-sized businesses in Washington, D.C. Franco was appointed to the Maryland Economic Development Commission and the Maryland Governor’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs. Additional board memberships past and present include Destination DC; the Washington, DC Economic Partnership; and the United Way National Capital Area. She has a master’s in Finance from EAFIT University.

Federico Gonzalez-Denton earned a law degree from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and a Master of Laws certification from Tulane University Law School. He is a member of the U.S. Court of International Trade; U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit; U.S. District Court of Puerto Rico; and a certified Notary Public. He has served on numerous boards including the Metropolitan University in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Export Council.

Philip Kelliher has held numerous marketing and managerial positions at Caterpillar in Australia, Chile and the United States. He has worked as mining industry region manager for Latin America; mining general manager for North America; and hauling and extraction product director in the Mining Products Division. He is native of Australia and earned a degree in engineering from the University of Melbourne. Kelliher has served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Milwaukee; the National Mining Association Manufacturers and Services Board; and the Australian Consulate U.S. Midwest Business Advisory.
