Reducing Youth Attrition
PADF worked in partnership with the US government, Telefónica, and Cinépolis to support a youth development program focused on children aged 6 through 10. By encouraging youth from at-risk communities to stay in school, the program sought to prevent them from engaging in high-risk behaviors, such as drug use and violence, and from entering the workforce early and later becoming victims of human trafficking. Funding provided by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. enabled the expansion of the program to areas in southern Mexico, including the particularly vulnerable state of Chiapas. This project benefitted 150 youth.
