Closing Gaps Program
Barrancabermeja, Santander Department
This program, called Cerrando Brechas or Closing Gaps, seeks to improve the quality of life for 600 residents living in extreme poverty in the municipality of Barrancabermeja, Department of Santander.
Educating through Technology
Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia
These educational means utilize online tools to improve the quality of both in-person and distance education through an online course delivered under the academic and technical supervision of tutors.
Government of the Netherlands Program
The objective is to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the Macarena region by working in strengthening local institutions in the areas of government, social development and support to property rights.
Human Rights Protection Project
PADF is working to strengthen the capacity of its Human Rights Directorate through programs that provide training, technical assistance, and logistical support geared toward the prevention of rights violations, and the promotion and protection of human rights and international humanitarian rights.
Increasing Water and Food Security
PADF is working with Plenty Belize, a village-based development agency, to provide on-site skills training through its Garden-Based Agriculture for Belize’s Environment (GATE) initiative.
Institutional Strengthening for the Victims Unit
This program seeks to provide institutional strengthening to UARIV through activities that promote the participation of communities affected by Colombia’s armed conflict in the process of providing care, reparations, and other priorities as outlined by the Law.
Justice Assistance Mobile Unit
This nine-month long initiative will create transitional justice mechanisms and strengthen existing coordination among government institutions in order to better provide guidance, assistance, and support to victims of Colombia’s ongoing armed conflict.
Literacy and Education for the Island
PADF specifically supported PIER’s free library and Teachers Resource Center, which provide mobile access to reading and writing resources for the population of the island.
The Multisectoral Alliance to Reduce Human Trafficking
PADF implemented an initiative to support the Mexican government, civil society, and the private sector in their efforts to raise awareness and support prevention of trafficking in persons.
Actively works to build the capacity of community organizations, encouraging them to define their own local priorities and assisting them in implementing critical interventions in the areas of health, education, micro-enterprise, and infrastructure.
Delmas 32, Haiti
PRODEPUR-HABITAT works to rebuild homes, clear rubble, improve community infrastructure, and create more access to basic social services as part of a plan to revitalize one of the most densely populated areas in the Port-au-Prince metro region.
Productive and Business Strengthening for Indigenous Communities
This Program seeks to strengthen the productive and business aspects of indigenous communities located in 23 municipalities throughout the country by assisting them in promoting commercial activities and opening up new markets.
The Resistance and Prevention Program (RAPP)
Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago
A key component of the program is to develop community-driven strategies for addressing crime, while working regionally to apply lessons learned and ensure sustainability. The ultimate goal is to identify lasting solutions to citizen security through preventive measures that avoid problems before they happen.
The RCL funding has helped support a children’s center that served 150 children. The grant increased the number of books in the center’s library, which has expanded the types of reading activities available to the children, many of whom are socially at-risk.
Support to Women and Youth Affected by Armed Conflict
This initiative will create transitional justice mechanisms and strengthen existing coordination among government institutions in order to better provide assistance and psychosocial support and guidance to women and youth who have been victims of armed conflict.

Funding from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. supported academic programs in math, science, reading, as well as teacher training workshops, and also provided furniture and equipment to schools.
Tu Voz: Campaign Against Human Trafficking
El Salvador, Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Honduras
PADF expanded its already successful Tu Voz Contra la Trata de Personas campaign from Mexico to Guatemala and other countries in the region to alert, educate, empower and support young people to achieve their goals and avoid putting their lives at risk.
