PADF’s Troy Clarke, who coordinates our INL-funded B-PRO project in The Bahamas, recently met with U.S. Ambassador to The Bahamas Herschel Walker and fellow exchange-program alumni at a gathering hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Nassau.
The event brought together Bahamian leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and community advocates who have participated in U.S. Embassy initiatives over the years, programs that have invested in the development of Bahamian talent across many sectors. Among them are exchanges such as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the U.S. Department of State’s flagship professional exchange, and initiatives like the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), which continues to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen communities throughout The Bahamas.
For Troy, the gathering was a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, share experiences, and reflect on the value of these programs. Having participated in and benefited from several of these initiatives himself, he sees firsthand how they invest in local leaders and help build the kind of lasting relationships that contribute to the growth and development of the country, and to stronger ties between the United States and The Bahamas.
Convening alumni in this way reflects exactly the spirit these programs are built on: connecting people, building trust, and strengthening the partnerships that advance shared goals across the region. We’re proud that Troy and his work in The Bahamas are part of that story, and we thank the U.S. Embassy Nassau team for bringing this community together.
