PADF Holds Annual Board of Trustees Meeting in Washington, D.C., Welcomes OAS Assistant Secretary General Laura Gil

The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) convened its annual Board of Trustees meeting in Washington, D.C., bringing together trustees, senior leadership, and Hemispheric Directors for a day of strategic dialogue, program insights, and organizational reflection. The meeting was marked by the participation of Laura Gil, the newly appointed Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), who joined PADF for her first Board Meeting and shared her perspective on the vital partnership between the two institutions.

The gathering offered trustees a unique opportunity to engage directly with Hemispheric Directors, hear stories from the field, and receive updates on key program advances across Latin America and the Caribbean. PADF highlighted its impact over the past year and shared emerging opportunities to expand its portfolio, secure new donors, and deepen relationships with longstanding partners committed to shared development goals.

PADF’s work in Haiti and Colombia drew significant interest from trustees, who recognized the organization’s leadership, adaptability, and commitment to communities operating in some of the hemisphere’s most challenging environments. Trustees expressed strong support for PADF’s mission, values, and dedicated teams, underscoring their confidence in the organization’s direction as it continues navigating changes in U.S. Government funding and a rightsizing process undertaken over the past nine months.

“PADF’s strength comes from the trust of our partners, the dedication of our teams, and the unwavering commitment of our Board,” said Katie Taylor, Executive Director of PADF. “Today’s meeting reinforces that we are united in purpose and firmly focused on delivering solutions that improve lives and expand opportunities across the hemisphere.”

The Board reaffirmed its support for PADF’s strategic priorities and commended the organization for its proactive efforts to secure new resources and alliances. With a renewed sense of direction and institutional alignment, PADF enters the coming year poised to strengthen its impact and build a more resilient and prosperous future for the communities it serves.
