STEM education is not just about formulas, experiments, or technology, it is about building confidence, curiosity, and real opportunities for young people to imagine and shape their futures. In 2025, PADF’s STEM Americas program demonstrated how hands-on, inclusive STEM learning can transform classrooms, strengthen educators, and open pathways for students who have historically had limited access to quality STEM education.
Across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Panama, STEM Americas reached 1,097 students in 103 public schools and community learning spaces, prioritizing underserved communities and equity in access to science and technology education. Through practical experiments, engineering and robotics challenges, sustainability-focused projects, and inquiry-based learning, students didn’t just learn STEM concepts, they applied them to real-world problems connected to their communities.
The results speak for themselves. 100% of surveyed students reported feeling capable of conducting scientific experiments after completing the program, reflecting major gains in confidence and self-efficacy. More than 80% of students rated the program with top satisfaction scores, and nearly 55% of participants were girls, reinforcing the program’s commitment to inclusive STEM pathways.
At the same time, 127 educators strengthened their teaching practices through targeted STEM training, with over 83% reporting improvements in their instructional methods and 82% feeling more confident teaching STEM in their classrooms.
Beyond the numbers, STEM Americas helped students see themselves differently: as problem-solvers, innovators, and future professionals in science, technology, engineering, and math. By connecting classroom learning with real-world applications, from aerospace concepts to environmental sustainability, the program created an ecosystem where learning feels relevant, engaging, and achievable.
