STEM for Oceans
En la Fundación Panamericana para el Desarrollo (PADF, por sus siglas en inglés) creemos en el cuidado de las personas y del planeta. La educación STEM (ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas) es un impulsor clave para la sostenibilidad ambiental y el cuidado de la Tierra. A través de nuestros programas en STEM contribuimos a proteger los ecosistemas para las generaciones actuales y futuras.
Los océanos absorben el 31% del CO2 derivado de actividades humanas, más de tres mil millones de personas dependen del océano para su sustento, los océanos proporcionan alimentos para la especie humana. Su conservación es importante.
La exploración e investigación científica son cruciales. Cuidar los océanos es cuidar la vida.
“STEM For Oceans” de PADF, enseña a más de 665 estudiantes el uso de kits robóticos para construir drones submarinos. También, les proporciona a los y las estudiantes la oportunidad oportunidad de colaborar en grupos y agudizar sus habilidades comunicativas, de pensamiento crítico y de resolución de problemas necesarias para el siglo 21.
STEM for Oceans capacita a más de 70 docentes en metodologías STEM y ayuda a obtener la capacidad para crear entornos estimulantes en el aula, así como diseñar y entregar planes de lecciones efectivos para lograr los resultados de aprendizaje deseados.
STEM for Oceans fomenta la importancia del liderazgo e inclusión en docentes y estudiantes, impactando a más de 434 mujeres.
