A regional approach

A Regional Approach to Mitigating Gender-Based Violence

The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) supports cities and communities in Latin America to improve access to quality services for gender-based-violence survivors.

PADF brings together local government institutions and nonprofit organizations, particularly women’s and grassroot organizations and human rights defenders from selected cities and communities to collectively design, manage and execute gender-based violence solutions. PADF also connects them to a support network of regional and local partners, that enables South to South cooperation, and learning from each other.

PADF and organizations from the South are building the first digital mapping of GBV service providers in Latin America and systematizing data produced by networks of women’s organization in each country. We are also actively addressing the lack of funding and access to networks for small and grassroot women’s organizations by providing a flexible small grants program to organizations in Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, and Colombia who work to prevent or eradicate GBV in coordination with the local governments.
