Argentina

In Argentina, PADF is supporting Fundación Ciencia Joven, which has seen great success with its STEM Academy pilot program in Chile. The Argentinian STEM Academy program prioritizes students’ ability to use science to explain complex things, understanding scientific methods, and appreciating STEM as a viable career option. 

To date, we have reached 435 schools, 98 teachers, and more than 1,369 students.

Bolivia
Bolivia

In Bolivia, PADF is assisting Tecnonautas, a legally constituted social organization dedicated to developing projects in sustainable technology to inspire innovation through example. Tecnonautas has empowered more than 18 schools, 304 teachers, and 1,545 students through their STEM clubs where students have the opportunity to work to develop a socio-environmental community project addressing topics such as waste management, solar energy, access to clean water, among others in the municipalities of La Paz and El Alto.

Tecnonautas, the educational branch of EnerGea en Bolivia, has a mission of creating skills for the 21st century for children, complementing the discipline of STEM with environmental awareness. Pioneers in STEM education in Bolivia, they have been developing successful in-person and online projects for the past six years,  reaching all the regions of the country, closing the educaton gap in public schools. It has high results among Bolivian youth, who are more interested in STEM topics.

Brazil

Instituto Alpha Lumen is an NGO located in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo. They seek social impact solutions through educational actions, developing numerous projects of action and inspiration with the community. IAL works with students and teachers in their STEM programs that focus on early learning to workforce development. Together with PADF, IAL will focus on executing the XXXX Olympics as well as a Sustainable Aviation Fuels Grand Challenge for University Students.

STHEM Brasil is an NGO that functions within a consortium of schools and universities in Sao Paulo and around the country. STHEM Brasil focuses on investing in teacher trainings, strengthening engagement and improving learning in students through active STEM methodologies. PADF and STHEM Brasil will promote academic innovation through a cooperation network of Brazilian education institutions (universities) to train professors and school directors to implement STEM methodologies in their schools and classrooms.

Chile

In Chile, PADF is supporting Fundación Ciencia Joven to improve STEM education in the Valparaiso region by establishing afterschool STEM Academies at approximately 65 area schools, reaching 120 teachers and 1,262 students. Fundación Ciencia Joven staff provides STEM trainings and mentorships to area teachers who will lead their students through nine months of weekly classes, culminating in a Science and Exhibition Fair where students from each Academy will showcase hands-on projects they have tackled throughout the school year.

Colombia

In Colombia, PADF is working with Corporación Cipsela, a non-profit organization focused on promoting STEM activities through a scientific and aerospace technology-based curricula. Through their STEM Clubs in Envigado, Itagui, Caldas, La Estrella, and Sabaneta in Colombia, Cipsela has improved STEM Education by developing students’ and teacher’s competencies through STEM Clubs focused in aerospace as well as their teacher trainings. To date, we have reached 34 schools, 365 teachers, and 11,424 students.

Corporación Cipsela (Creative and Innovative Programs for Space Education, Launch, and Aviation) is a nonprofit organization that implements innovative  STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) projects through a curriculum based on science and aerospace technology, applying the “learn by doing” methodology. It is rapidly expanding its presence across Colombia.

Ecuador

In Ecuador, PADF has partnered with Fundación Fidal, a non-governmental organization focused on the improvement of the quality of education through the empowerment, training and recognition of teachers of Primary, Middle and High school education. Through their STEM Mentoring Program, Fidal has prepared more than 100 teachers on Project or Problem Based Learning (APB) in Quito and surrounding areas. To date, we have reached 144 schools, 820 teachers, and 10,352 students.

The Fundación para la Integración y Desarrollo de América Latina (FIDAL) is a nonprofit organization established in 1999. It works for national and international development and educational, cultural, and capacity-building cooperation, coordination, and assistance. Through the E-STEM Academy (Ethics, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) it trains professors and students from Ecuador.

Panama

Panama’s thriving economy has spawned the need for many new jobs that require STEM skills. However, the Panamanian work force is largely underqualified for such jobs. Therefore, employers are compelled to hire foreigners. Through our partnership with Fundesteam, we have reached 511 schools, 4,077 teachers, and 53,707 students, providing the necessary leadership skills to teach students STEM subjects in Panama City, which has been dubbed the “City of Knowledge.”

This important foundation, with strong social impact, has changed the lives of many children through innovative educational programs. These high-quality programs are accessible to all, starting with those less fortunate. Initiatives as those offered by Fundesteam have been transforming society and its structure, offering more opportunities for inclusion and progress; emphasizing the need to eliminate gender disparities and empower girls and women.

Peru

In Peru, PADF is working with Robotec, a non-profit association that has spread science and technology since 2002 through a holistic approach and execution of projects. Through STEM Clubs and teacher trainings, Robotec has taught participants problem solving methods that promote creativity, reasoning and collaboration such as: Computational, Systemic, Algorithmic and Heuristic Thinking, among others. To date, we have reached 28 schools, 146 teachers, and 708 students.


Robotec

Robotec is an association that promotes science and technology. It is a pioneer in robotics in Peru, offering workshops that cover programming to students, training for teachers, and providing counsel on STEM/STEAM to educational bodies. This work has been widely recognized throughout its six decades of existence. It has always been on the cutting edge of new educational tools that make its students highly competitive.
